The Carey Business School Finance Club and Professional Career Services Department will be hosting Wall Street Prep's M&A and LBO Modeling seminar at Johns Hopkins University on the weekend of April 4-5, 2009. This intensive weekend seminar is led by former investment bankers with applied expertise in financial and valuation modeling methodologies, and bridges the gap between academics and the real world to equip you with the practical financial skill set you will need on the job.

Learn Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and Leveraged Buyout (LBO) Modeling in Excel from scratch using intuitive, step-by-step instruction and model templates the way it is actually performed in practice. Saturday: Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Modeling*

  • Learn to build comprehensive M&A models from scratch
  • Learn key M&A topics - accounting treatments, taxation issues, expected synergies, and accredtion/dilution analysis
  • Training utilizes best practices for Excel mechanics and sensitivity analysis
  • Includes reusable, modifiable Excel M&A model templates
  • M&A modeling best practices

Sunday: Leveraged Buyout (LBO) Modeling*

  • Build a fully integrated, three-statement LBO model, the way it is done in the industry
  • Develop an understanding of leveraged financing and learn how to model the typical instruments of LBO financing
  • Learn the typical LBO deal structures, along with current market metrics and the goals and constrraints of the typical LBO participants
  • Build data tables for sensitivity analysis of an LBO
  • Learn Excel mechanics and best practices

CANCELLATION POLICY
Participants may cancel up to 2 weeks prior to the event for a full refund. A 20% cancellation fee will apply up to 1 week prior to the event. No refunds will be granted for cancellations made within 1 week of the event.
