Participants develop an Oil & Gas (O&G) financial model completely from scratch, inputting historical data as well as macro and company specific assumptions to project financial statements using step-by-step instruction on selecting, locating, and developing appropriate projection drivers.

Day 2
8am - 5pm
Oil & Gas Valuation Overview, DCF & NAV Modeling

Valuation represents the heart of the investment banking and corporate finance skill set. Before building Oil & Gas (O&G) valuation models, participants will learn the conceptual underpinnings of the valuation framework.

Day 3
8am - 5pm
Oil & Gas M&A Modeling

Inputting deal assumptions, Calculating shares outstanding, Allocating purchase price and calculating goodwill, Building pro forma income and cash flow statements, Error-checking a merger model and inserting circuit breaker switches.

Boot Camp Overview

This boot camp is an intensive instructor-led training program where trainees learn financial and valuation modeling in Excel using an intuitive, step-by-step approach. Participants will use real case studies to build financial models from scratch the way it is done at financial institutions. The program is a synthesis of Excel modeling, navigating through various financial reports, and the application of accounting, corporate finance, and valuation courses.

Schedule

Each day begins at 8am and ends at 5pm with a 1-hour lunch break as well as a midmorning and midafternoon break.

Prerequisites

This seminar presumes knowledge of financial accounting (at least 1 semester or equivalent). Participants without this background must enroll in and complete the Accounting Crash Course prior to attending the seminar.

  • Participants will understand dynamics of the O&G industry and the factors determining crude oil and natural gas prices
